Part 2 of the Tuning In to Inner Guidance Series
Your Body Knows Before Your Mind Understands

Have you ever said yes to something that looked perfect on paper—but felt wrong in your body? Or maybe you felt a tightness in your chest before a difficult conversation, even when everything seemed “fine”? That’s not a coincidence. Instead, that’s your body speaking.
Before your mind can explain, rationalize, or figure things out, your body already knows.
The Body Is a Messenger

Your body holds more than just tension and tiredness. In fact, it holds truth. While your mind might be too busy to catch the signals, your body notices. It sends messages through sensation, breath, posture, and sometimes even pain. Long before you’ve made sense of things, your body has already responded to people, spaces, and choices.
Because of this, tuning in to your inner guidance means learning to trust your body as part of the conversation. Your body is not just a vessel that carries you around. Rather, it is an intelligent, responsive system that’s always trying to help you align with your truth.
Common Body Signals of Inner Knowing

Everyone’s signals are a little different. However, here are some common ways your body might be speaking to you:
- Tight chest or throat: Something’s off, or a boundary’s being crossed.
- Expansive breath or ease in the shoulders: You’re safe, supported, in alignment.
- Sudden fatigue or heaviness: Your body is trying to slow you down or protect you.
- Goosebumps or chills: A moment of deep resonance or intuitive recognition.
- Gut discomfort or nausea: A mismatch between what you feel and what you’re doing.
These cues are not random; they are feedback. The more you pay attention, the clearer your body’s messages become. In other words, awareness grows with practice.
Stillness Helps You Hear

Your body’s wisdom easily gets drowned out when you’re rushing, distracted, or disconnected. That’s why stillness matters—not as a luxury, but as a tuning fork. For this reason, moments of quiet allow you to feel rather than just think.
Whether it’s sitting in silence for a few breaths or taking a slow walk without your phone, these simple pauses invite your inner signals to rise to the surface. As a result, when your mind slows down, your body finally gets a chance to speak.
You Don’t Need Proof to Trust What You Feel

We’re taught to trust logic, evidence, and data. However, intuitive guidance rarely comes with receipts. You might feel a strong yes without knowing why. Sometimes, you sense a no that doesn’t make “sense.” Trusting your body is about honoring the wisdom of sensation, even when your mind wants more certainty.
Remember, you’re not being asked to justify. Instead, you’re being invited to listen.
A Gentle Practice to Try

The next time you’re making a decision, big or small, pause and ask your body:
- “When I think about this choice… where do I feel it?”
- “Does this feel light or heavy?”
- “Open or tight?”
- “Energizing or draining?”
You don’t need an immediate answer. Instead, just notice. Let your body be part of the conversation.
Final Thought

Your mind will always want a reason. Meanwhile, your body will always offer a truth.
When you learn to recognize how your body says yes and how it says no, you unlock an internal compass that’s been guiding you all along. And the more you trust it, the stronger it becomes.
After all, your body knows.
Your job is to listen.
